2024 SHOW ~ SATURDAY 7th SEPTEMBER
Wrea Green Show
Originally staged in a field next to the Institute during the
1940s by the Wrea Green Garden Produce Society, the
Annual Village Show was re-introduced in 2016 by the
newly formed Wrea Green Horticultural Society. The 2022
Show, held in a marquee behind the Institute, attracted 570
entries and was visited by hundreds of villagers.
The Show is very much a village event and to qualify to
enter you must either live in the village or the immediate
surrounding area (click here to see a map), be a member of
Wrea Green Institute or attend the village school.
Congratulations go to
Ray Pickett (pictured left), who won
the coveted RHS Banksian Medal for
the most points in the Horticultural
classes. The Show was was
delighted to have North West
Roofing Supplies as our main
sponsor for the first time.
The Duck Trail again proved hugely
popular and congratulations go to
the Owen family on Manor Road for
their excellent winning entry of ‘Dub
TV’ (pictured right). Thanks go to
Roland L. Whitehead, Daughter and
Granddaughters for again
sponsoring the Duck Trail.
We will be staging our 2024 Show on Saturday 7th September.

TThe 2023 Show weekend was
blessed with superb weather which
helped to boost visitor numbers to a
record high.
The hot weather also helped to boost
sales at the Beer Festival with hardly a
drop left by the Monday evening and
thanks go to Wareing Buildings who
very kindly sponsored the souvenir
pint glasses for the Beer Festival.
Thanks to everyone who supported us
on what was another highly
memorable weekend.
