Last year we used the marquee for an event on Show Sunday when we hosted a Teddy Bears’ Picnic with entertainment from the Bad Mamma Jammers, who provided a selection of swing, vintage and funky jazz. We are planning to do the same again in 2020 and invite you to bring along a picnic. The Beer Festival will be open for anyone who fancies a liquid picnic. The marquee will be open between 3pm and 5pm and entrance is free. Live music from Cartwright follows after the picnic.
Show Day attractions
We are always looking for local crafts people and artists to bring their creations to the Show and have a stall on the car park outside the marquee. In 2019 we had a dozen stallholders selling everything from paintings, wooden gifts and clothing to soya candles, diffusers, skincare products and locally grown flowers. Pembertons Farm Shop were also there with a selection of their meats to buy and they also provided the post-Show BBQ which began at 4pm. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for further details.
Village History Exhibition
One of the features of the Show is the Village History Exhibition in the marquee on Saturday afternoon. We are very grateful to Richard Lancaster, who each year brings part of his Wrea Green archive of old photographs and documents for everyone to see and chat to him about.
