The Duck Trail was introduced in 2017 and has quickly become a popular addition to Show weekend. Last year hundreds of people followed the trail around the village to admire the creativity and duck-tastic ingenuity of the displays.Villagers are encouraged to make a duck-themed display in their gardens to last for the Saturday of the Show and the day after. Duck Trail maps are available from the marquee on the afternoon of the Show and can also be downloaded from this website or seen on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Each display is given a number and the Trail starts and finishes at The Institute.Everyone who goes on the Duck Trail can vote by giving each display a mark out of ten. The winning display will be the one with the highest number of marks.Last year there was a film theme to the displays with the winners being 3 Ribby Road (Ducky Potter) who were awarded the coveted Duck Trail Trophy, which was sponsored in 2019 by Dizzy Ducks. Thanks go to Ruth and Anna Bretherton for their excellent organisation of this event who have kindly agreed to do the same this year (see below).
Assuming that this year’s event will be taking place as planned over the weekend of 5th and 6th September, Ruth and Anna would like you to email them at firstname.lastname@example.org to register your intention to take part by Friday 28th August. There will be no theme for the 2020 Duck Trail, giving you free range to create a truly unique duck-themed display. Please see our Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest news relating to the all events planned over Show weekend.
